Computers are on your side!

Computers can help you out in every way. From as simple as looking up a song title to composing a doctorate degree paper. Computers have been a revolutionary tool in everyday life since the 1960s. I think that we would not be where we are today without the help of computers. Some would say that computers, for most of the time, think for us. An example would be the auto-correct feature where it will finish typing the word the computer thinks you are about to type. In this blog, I will show you seven different ways that computers can help us.

Vision

Without computer technology, television would not be where they are now. The visual graphics in action movies are phenomenal! This is all made possible by computer technology. Actors have been safer because of visual graphics and we could not even imagine a movie like Avatar or Bugs without computers. Software created to make 3D movies and images come to life (not literally). Pixar entertainment would be nothing without computers. How boring would movies be without computer graphics and animation? Would you still watch action movies if it never progressed since the 1980s?

Money in your pocket.

Earlier in my blog, I touched on how social networking has helped the economy. Computers also helped us by creating classified advertisements. Selling items has never been easier, new or used. Kijiji is a great example of creating classifieds. Not only is it free but very user friendly and easy to find the items you are looking for. Ebay is another marketplace that is widely known and used globally. Loads of money has been saved just by redeeming online coupons, price matching is easier to verify and lastly the money and time we all have saved on stamps just by e-mailing instead of the conventional post office mail box. Computers are great investments.

Data Management

Data Management is essential for businesses to operate seamlessly. Things like inventory, sales transactions and data input would be incredibly tedious and even nearly impossible for huge companies to operate without the use of data management. Data management is efficient with a computer, as well as tools that relates to computers like handheld scanners. Data management is not only important for businesses but for our everyday lives as well. Data management can be as simple as an agenda or a calendar. Both now conveniently on our mobile computers to remind us in case we forget to read them.

Social Networking

Social media has been a huge part in economic growth the past few years, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Groupon just to name a few has employed hundreds, some even thousands of people. This has also encouraged entrepreneurs to stray away from the traditional employment and created their own business based on social media. Facebook pages dedicated to small local start up businesses to young entrepreneurs starting up their own clothing line to become known. This is a huge way that computers have helped us.

An entire library in your hands.

As a procrastinator, I personally love having a computer. The internet is so crucial when doing research papers and assignments. Without computers, I think we would be more productive and have more initiative to have stuff done earlier. On the contrary, with computers, it makes it possible for lazy people to have stuff done than not at all. Lazy or not, computers help you to be more efficient than ever. As long as you have the right sources from your online resources, you will get the same information from the library, if not better and more recent. When was the last time you went to the library and opened up a book to do research? I, like most other people go to the library to go on my laptop just for a quiet study session.

Software to make YOU look professional

Computer software can play a big role in whether you are trying to sell something, land a dream job or even to just visualize a current idea. There are softwares to satisfy your every need. Microsoft office has  a barrage of software that we use in our everyday lives, Microsoft word being most popular. Other softwares are: powerpoint, excel, outlook, etc... Power point has been visualizing peoples ideas, arguments, and presentations since it was released. Microsoft Word now has document templates for virtually anything you would want. I have used the templates for multiple documents like a resume template, a memo template, and even a newsletter template. This ties back to convenience as well. If multiple variations of templates were available to for the document you need, would you use it?
